So here's a treat for everyone who has read The Help and wondered what Minny's famous caramel cake really tastes like! I pulled this straight off of Kathryn Stockett's website, where she posted the recipe due to popular demand from readers like yourselves who want to bake and/or taste a bit of the book. Never Fail Creamy Caramel Icing
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 slightly beaten egg
1 stick of butter
3/4 c. milk
1 t. vanilla
